Welcome

Dear Friends,

We would like to introduce our church to you,

Faith Baptist Church is not merely another ‘Church’ around the corner in Hobart.  We have been having regular weekly services in the Hobart area since 1978. It is our conviction that we have to remain faithful and true to the Bible – God’s revealed Word for our redemption.  We are Christians who believe that the Bible is the basis for our beliefs, lives and conduct.

Many churches in recent years have moved away from the original fundamental teachings of the Bible. They have substituted human theories and tradition for biblical authority; altered the terms of the Faith; humanised the Bible as nothing more than a collection of myths and legends; rejected the explicit fundamental doctrines of the Bible and placed “love” above sound doctrines as the basis for Christian ecumenical unity.  Unity at the expense of Biblical truths is the blatant betrayal of God’s holy Word.

We are also saddened to see churches that were once sound in biblical doctrine compromising preaching a non offensive Gospel to be ‘sinner-friendly’ to fill their buildings.  Many are teaching a Gospel of ‘Health and Wealth here and now on earth’ which appeals to the sinful greed of people.   Hence, the confusion in society as to the true biblical faith and the resulting derision upon the church. We rather please God than man, hence our biblical stand.

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (2 Tim 4: 3,4)

However, we praise God for other faithful Churches that exist in Hobart and we will consider them our brethren in the Lord.  We love God dearly and also love our fellow men.  Our purpose is to witness of Christ’s redeeming death & His resurrection to save sinners and to disciple those who believe in Him to conform to His image.

Our worship times are  reverent but joyous and the children also sit together with their parents in the service learning to worship God.  We also believe that the parents are given the responsibility and the obligation to be the primary teachers of their children in Christian conduct and spiritual truths in their own homes daily (Dt 11: 1,2, 18-21; 6: 4-9,10; Prov 22: 6; 1 Tim 1: 5).  Hymns and choruses are sung with the opportunity for testimonies.  Central to that is the faithful preaching of Scripture. You would notice genuine love and affection in our midst – a family atmosphere.  We offer a friendly welcome and a true Christian fellowship. If you are looking for a faithful Church do come and see for yourself.

Thank You for taking time to read this invitation.  We trust God to guide you.  For further information or explanation, please feel free to contact us and we would be pleased to help.

Sincerely,

The Congregation
